    Strafzuschlag für Hassdelikte

    Wer ein schweres Delikt (felony) als Hassdelikt begeht oder zu begehen versucht, erhält zusätzlich zur eigentlichen Strafe einen Zuschlag. Handelt der Täter bewusst gemeinsam mit anderen, fällt der Zuschlag höher aus. Der Einsatz einer Schusswaffe gilt als straferschwerender Umstand; für jede frühere Verurteilung wegen eines Hassdelikts kommt ein weiteres Jahr hinzu.
